Guillaume Denaud, a graphic designer, has made Marseille his home, and he’s sharing the places that shape his everyday life in this French seaside city. He notices the colors, textures, architecture, and everyday details that bring a place to life.
Since moving to Marseille with his girlfriend Adèle, Guillaume has been discovering the spaces that anchor him, from neighborhood streets and independent eateries to creative studios and seaside swimming spots.
Marseille’s culture, Mediterranean light, and constantly changing energy have become a source of inspiration for Guillaume’s work and daily life.
Le Cours Julien is one of Guillaume’s favorite places to visit, with its ever-changing outdoor gallery of street art and vintage shops. He walks his dog here most mornings, taking in the creative atmosphere.

Guillaume also enjoys visiting La Cité Radieuse, a “vertical village” designed by Le Corbusier. The building is home to a magazine and bookstore called Librairie Rupture, as well as an art, design, and furniture store called Maison Mirbel.
La Friche La Belle de Mai is another creative hub that Guillaume loves to visit. The former tobacco factory is now filled with galleries, cafés, a library, and a skatepark, making it a unique and inspiring space.
Atelier Oven is a studio that Guillaume and Adèle discovered while looking for a new way to express their illustrations. The studio, founded by ceramist Diana Fekete, combines illustration and ceramics in a relaxed and creative environment.
Guillaume’s favorite seaside spot is Malmousque, a neighborhood perched above a rocky shore. He loves to take ocean dips and sunset swims here, and in the summer, he enjoys the unique southern French evening energy.

Visually, the city can feel almost overwhelming in the best possible way; there’s so much to absorb – hand-painted lettering on signs, market stalls overflowing with produce, graffiti-covered walls, layers of posters, second-hand shops, flea markets and crowds of people moving through the streets.
Even after a year living in Marseille, Guillaume still feels as though he’s only scratched the surface of this city.
